The Radiant Technology System for attic
insulation requires that the residential material be used. The
material will be laid in the attic top of existing insulation.
It is easier to measure the length of the attic floor so that
you can lay the material, once it has been cut to the
appropriate size. Overlap the residential material by three to
four inches, by overlapping the material; you will help prevent
any heat gains or losses from an area that has not been covered.
This product unlike fiberglass is a non
allergenic product, a perfect vapor barrier, and could offer a
safety factor in the event of an attic or ceiling fire.
To achieve the maximum efficiency of your A/C
heater system the duct or trunk lines must also be wrapped with
the residential material. The insulated ceiling tiles will raise
the attic cavity temperature 20°F to 40°F warmer, making air or
heat in the duct work less efficient. The insulation on the duct
work must be equivalent. You will achieve comfort levels in the
rooms, but by wrapping the duct or trunk lines this will drop
A/C temperature at vent level around 15°F to 20°F colder than
before, improving the efficiency of the unit, extending life of
the unit, and the saving of dollars.
